Dear Charter School Community,
Parents' choices on where they send their children to school must be respected and we will continue to support them to make sure their voices are heard. The New Jersey Public Charter Schools Association (NJPCSA), on behalf of the tens of thousands of students and families they represent, is urging the Acting Commissioner and the NJDOE to reverse recent public charter school expansion denials of high performing schools.
These decisions are bad public policy and will displace hundreds of low income families of color from attending high performing schools throughout New Jersey. Importantly, these decisions do not align with the Governor’s commitment to support high performing charter school decisions and to evaluate expansion and renewal decisions based on their merits.
Please send this pre-populated email to the Commissioner and the Governor asking them to reconsider and reverse their decisions to ensure that students can stay in the schools where they are excelling academically and the communities that they’ve been a part of, and thriving in, for years.
As the Governor noted, we should support all schools that are top-performing regardless of school type. No child should be shut out of a school they love. Support our children by taking action now.

In this together,
